In response, Washington Freedom struggled to keep up with the required run rate despite some resistance from Lahiru Milantha and Andries Gous. Milantha's quickfire innings included five boundaries and one six but wasn't enough to chase down the target as they ended their innings at 174/8.

Andre Russell's all-round contribution for LAKR was pivotal. His three-wicket haul dismantled WF’s middle order, while Ali Khan provided excellent support with two key wickets.

Fielding played a significant role as well, with Steven Smith making two excellent catches for WF. However, it was not enough to turn the tide in their favor.
