Romania clinched a thrilling victory against Gibraltar by 1 wicket in a closely contested T20 match on July 10, 2026. Anthony Hillman from Gibraltar and Avishka Iroshan from Romania were standout performers with the bat, each scoring a half-century. Kieron Ferrary shone with the ball for Gibraltar, taking four crucial wickets.
The match was played at Svanholm Park, Brondby, where Romania won the toss and elected to bowl first. Gibraltar set a target of 125 runs, ending their innings at 124/8 in 20 overs. The batting lineup struggled initially, losing early wickets, but Anthony Hillman anchored the innings with an unbeaten 50 off 44 balls, ensuring they reached a competitive total. Louis Bruce provided a quick start with his aggressive 20 off just 9 deliveries.
In response, Romania faced a challenging chase but managed to scrape through with a score of 125/9 in 19.1 overs. Avishka Iroshan was the hero for Romania, remaining not out on 53 from 44 balls, guiding his team to victory.
