Detailed Match Highlights

Toss and First Innings

China Women won the toss and elected to bowl, a decision that proved spot on. Philippines Women struggled to build partnerships, losing wickets at regular intervals. The standout performer for China was Ma Ruike, who delivered a mesmerizing spell of bowling, claiming 4 wickets for just 1 run in 3.1 overs, including 2 maidens. She was well-supported by Mengting Liu, who took 3 wickets for 11 runs in 4 overs.

The only significant contribution from the Philippines' batting came from Amelia Valdez, who scored 17 runs off 35 balls. However, her innings lacked the acceleration needed to set a competitive target. Philippines Women were bowled out for a meager 50 runs in just 14.1 overs.

Second Innings

Chasing a modest target of 51, China Women initially found themselves in trouble at 18/4. Karri Gullem Keen from Philippines bowled an impressive spell, scalping 3 wickets for 11 runs, including the crucial wickets of Jiaping Li, Wei Haiting, and Mingyue Zhu.

However, Xu Qian stood firm under pressure with a crucial knock of 16 runs off 22 balls, including a boundary that calmed the nerves of her team. She found support from Cai Yuzhi, who added 7 runs in a patient partnership. China eventually chased down the target in 14.2 overs, finishing at 51/5.
