Narrative and Match Insights

The highly anticipated final between IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans (ITT) and Dindigul Dragons (DD) at the NPR College Ground lived up to its billing. Electing to bowl first after winning the toss, the Dragons faced an onslaught from the ITT batters.

First Innings: IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans

The Tamizhans posted a mammoth 220/5 in 20 overs, powered by an explosive batting display:

Amit Sathvik gave ITT a fiery start, smashing 65 runs off just 34 balls. His innings included 8 boundaries and 3 sixes.
Tushar Raheja continued the carnage, scoring an authoritative 77 off 46 balls, decorated with 6 fours and 4 sixes. His strike rate of 167.39 ensured the run rate remained high throughout.
Contributions from Mohamed Ali (23 off 14) and V Anovankar (25 off 12) added the finishing touches.

The Dragons' bowling attack failed to contain the runs, with the most economical bowler being Ravichandran Ashwin, who conceded 36 runs in his 4 overs. Though M Karthik Saran took 2 wickets, he was expensive, giving away 44 runs in his full quota.

Second Innings: Dindigul Dragons

Chasing a daunting target of 221, the Dragons faltered right from the start. They were bundled out for a mere 102 runs in 14.4 overs, handing ITT a massive 118-run victory.

The top scorer for the Dragons was Atul Vitkar, who managed 24 runs off 20 balls.
Hunny Saini tried to show some fight with a quickfire 17 off 6 balls, but the rest of the lineup crumbled under pressure.

The Tamizhans' bowlers were lethal:

R Silambarasan delivered a match-winning spell, taking 2 wickets for just 12 runs in his 2 overs.
S Mohan Prasath and Esakkimuthu A also bagged 2 wickets each, dismantling the middle and lower order.

The Dragons were further hampered by the absence of Shivam Singh, who did not bat due to injury.
