Vidarbha emerged victorious over Chandigarh by 8 wickets in a one-sided encounter at Niranjan Shah Stadium C, Rajkot. Vidarbha's bowlers dismantled Chandigarh for a mere 113 runs, with Darshan Nalkande leading the charge. Vidarbha chased down the target with ease, driven by solid contributions from Atharva Taide and Dhruv Shorey.
Chandigarh won the toss and opted to bat first. The decision quickly backfired as their innings crumbled under pressure from Vidarbha's disciplined bowling attack. Darshan Nalkande was the standout performer with the ball, claiming four crucial wickets and effectively derailing Chandigarh's batting lineup. His victims included Manan Vohra and Sanyam Saini, among others. Nachiket Bhute also contributed with two wickets, adding to Chandigarh's woes.
Chandigarh struggled to build any significant partnerships, with Sanyam Saini being the highest scorer with just 36 runs. Arslan Khan showed some resistance scoring 27 off 26 balls, but it wasn't enough to mount a challenging total.
In response, Vidarbha chased down the target of 114 with relative ease. Atharva Taide anchored the innings with an unbeaten 43, while Dhruv Shorey matched his score in quick time to ensure a smooth victory. Despite losing two wickets during their chase, Vidarbha maintained control throughout, reaching the target in just 22.3 overs.
The match highlighted Vidarbha's dominance in both bowling and batting departments, with Darshan Nalkande's exceptional bowling performance earning him the Player of the Match award.
